"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is the second of seven books making up The Chronicles of Narnia. It was written and first published in 1950. The play is set in a large remote house - somewhere in Britain in 1940. And also in Narnia - sometime. Narnia was a land of great beauty, a happy land. Through it ran the River Narnia where it had its mouth in the Eastern Ocean. On its own peninsula lay the fair and wonderous (sic) castle - Cair Paravel.
