Nick Warburton

Introduction

Nick Warburton (b. 1947 (1955?)) has written scripts for stage and television as well as more than fifty scripts for radio, broadcast on Radios 3, 4, 5 and BBC7. Seven novels for children have been published, as have short stories and stage plays. In 2004, For Starters, had a successful run at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. He has run courses on creative writing both here (GB) and abroad. He is a member of the Writers' Guild of Great Britain, was on the judging panel for their children's book award in 1994, and chaired the same panel in 1995. Among his radio plays are Conversations from the Engine Room (joint-winner of the BBC/Radio Times Drama Award in 1985), A Grove of Straight Trees (short-listed for the BBC/Radio Times Drama Award in 1993), and A Soldier's Debt (short-listed for the 1999 Prix Italia). Television includes scripts for Doctors, EastEnders, Born and Bred and Holby City.
