Introduction

Timed to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the first few months of the Second World War, this play was written from contemporary material and devised from workshop improvisations. The Group asked their grandparents and parents to describe their memories of the War and the Blitz and evacuation, and from these reminiscences, scenes were improvised which we incorporated into the play. Set in South London, the play describes the outbreak of war to the height of the London Blitz.
