== Introduction ==

The play is set on Rampsholme, a tiny island in the middle of Derwentwater, where four middle-managers on a team-building exercise have somehow become shipwrecked. Their pathetic attempts to get themselves rescued are hampered by their inability to cooperate as much as by their ineptitude in the Great Outdoors, and what should have been a bonding process gradually becomes a muddy, bloody fight for survival.

Arthur Laddin is a normal 16 year old boy, that is until a magic ring transports him into the Land of Dreams where Anything Can Happen. A case of mistaken identity sees him assume the role of Aladdin: he must find the magic lamp, release the Genie and do battle with the Evil Vizier Abanazer.

Aided and abetted by the hapless Wishee Washee, a truculent Widow Twankey and two of the campest policemen you have ever seen, Aladdin joins forces with the Genie and, together with his friends, takes on Abanazer for the battle to end all battles...
With fabulous period costumes, magical sets, and incredible special effects, this is the one panto you cannot afford to miss!

== Introduction ==

Helene Alving is about to dedicate an orphanage she has built in the memory of her dead husband, Captain Alving. She reveals to her spiritual advisor, Pastor Manders, that she has hidden the evils of her marriage, and has built the orphanage to deplete her husband's wealth so that their son, Osvald, might not inherit anything from him. Pastor Manders had previously advised her to return to her husband despite his philandering, and she followed his advice in the belief that her love for her husband would eventually reform him. However her husband's philandering continued until his death, and Mrs. Alving was unable to leave him prior for fear of being shunned by the community. During the action of the play she discovers that her son Osvald (whom she had sent away so that he would not be corrupted by his father) is suffering from congenital syphilis, and (worse) has fallen in love with Regina Engstrand, Mrs. Alving's maid, who is revealed to be an illegitimate daughter of Captain Alving, and thereby Osvald's own half-sister.
The play concludes with Mrs. Alving deciding whether or not to euthanize her son Osvald in his developing syphillitic madness in accordance with his wishes.

== Introduction ==

Sylvia Plath was already recognised as a brilliant poet at the time of her death, and despite an ongoing interest in her life and work, few biographers consulted the one person who knew her best. In 1975, her mother Aurelia therefore published a volume of the letters Sylvia wrote between her college years and her death in 1963.

Sylvia Plath exemplified a heroine for feminists, a wronged woman oppressed by patriarchy, a pathology where her work was fuelled not by her intellect but her sickness, and lastly a character synonymous with depression and self-destruction. This play allows us to discover the less well known aspects of a woman with the use of her own words, not in the guise of a poet, but that of a dutiful and loving daughter.

Aurelia was born in 1906 and was 57 years old when her daughter died. Their relationship was problematic & ambiguous as they were both very close despite Sylvia’s claims that she hated her and her demonization in much of Plath’s poetry. The letters & this play however show her to be a woman who sacrificed much for her children.

Letters Home is two plays running in parallel, one taking place in the mind of Aurelia which recounts Sylvia’s life & the efforts made to save it, while the other is set in the here & now as Aurelia, through telling her story, endeavours to reach an understanding that she is alive and her daughter is gone
