Introduction

Simon Block is that rare thing, an established writer with no discernible online presence.

The 1997 production of Chimps at Hampstead Theatre won the Writers Guild New Writer Of The Year award. His other plays include Not A Game For Boys (Royal Court 1995), A Place At The Table (Bush 2000), Hand In Hand (Hampstead 2002) and an adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel Everything Is Illuminated (Hampstead 2006).

He now writes predominantly for television, including The Shooting Of Thomas Hurndall as well as episodes of Lewis, Wire In The Blood and New Tricks (in the early days when it was must-see TV).
